Fees

All vessels calling at Port of Oslo must pay waste reception fees, whether the ship is disposing ship waste or not. Leisure boats not paying port fees do not have to pay any waste fees. Special rates apply to disposal of hazardous waste (e.g. oily waste, varnish, sewage), depending on volume and type of waste.

Fees are invoiced by Port of Oslo KF together with port call and quay fees.

Waste fees are based on the number of persons (crew and passengers) the ship is authorized to carry and gross tonnage:

  • Cruise ships and ferries in overseas service: NOK 5,50 per person.
  • Other ships in ordinary service: NOK 0,08 per BT.

Minimum fee for ships paying fee at each call is NOK 100 per call.

Additional fees

  • An additional 50% per day will be charged for lay time over two days.
  • An additional 50% is also charged when the ship's last port of call before arriving in Oslo is located outside Northern Europe (i.e. all ports North of the 48th latitude).
  • Cruise ships are required to sort their waste before delivery. If this is not done, an additional 50% will be charged.
